A wave of panic swept through Ikire town in the Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State, on Sunday afternoon after suspected hoodlums launched a violent attack on the convoy of renowned Fuji musician, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma.
According to eyewitnesses, the assailants hurled stones and fired gunshots at the convoy, which included a black Hummer Jeep and a white Hilux truck. Both vehicles reportedly sustained visible damage during the ambush.
A viral video circulating on social media captured the aftermath of the incident, with chaotic scenes and distressed voices in the background.

In the footage, a man can be heard shouting in Pidgin English, “Kasala don burst for Ikire. They don attack us. They carry gun shoot us but God dey.”
The attack, which disrupted normal activities in the area, left residents stunned and temporarily halted business operations as fear spread among passers-by and shop owners.
Pasuma was reportedly in the state for a performance, although details of his visit have yet to be confirmed and it remains unclear if any member of his entourage was injured.
As of press time, neither Pasuma’s management nor the Osun State Police Command has issued an official statement on the incident, leaving the status of potential arrests unclear.
