Councillors Brace Up For Sanwo-Olu’s One Project Per Ward
Sooner than later, you will have a project worth N25million courtesy the Lagos State Government under the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu in each of the 377 wards in Lagos State
Councillors across the state have been jubilating since Governor Sanwo-olu broke the good news to them at a crucial meeting last week.
At the meeting, the governor praised them for working silently to support the chairmen of the councils and ensuring that there has been harmony in the relations between the executive and legislative arms at the local governments and local council development areas since he took assumed office.
He said it was in appreciation of their exemplary and supportive conduct that he has decided to partner with them to site a project worth N25million each per ward as a legacy of their tenure in office.
He advised them to consult the Chairmen, the communities and the party elders and come up with estimates no longer than 14 days so that the idea could be realised.
Sources at the meeting confirmed that the government would execute the jobs through registered contractors and ask the councillors to supervise them.
News learnt that councillors may hold emergency meetings with the community development associations, CDAs their wards soon to meet the deadline.
