Gombe approves additional N550m payment of gratuity

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has approved the release of additional 550 million Naira for continuation of payment to state retirees, in his determination to settle the backlog of gratuity of retired civil servants in the state.

A statement by the Governor said had directed all relevant agencies and personnel to commence the process of payment to the affected retirees with immediate effect.

The statement said the Governor has further reiterated his commitment to the welfare of all retired and serving civil Servants, whom he said deserved a dignified life, both in service and retired.

Reports state that this is the second time the Governor is releasing funds for the payment of the backlog of gratuity of workers who retired from the civil service.

In the meantime, the statement is directing all verified persons or dependants to the Treasury Headquarters from Wednesday, 11th December along with approved Pension Computation Sheet, Bank Verification Number, Identification Card and Letter of Administration for dead beneficiaries.
