Lagos State Police Command has commenced physical and Certificate screening of candidates who applied for recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force as Constables. The exercise commenced at exactly 9.00am at the Assembly Hall, Police College Ikeja with briefing of members of the screening Committee by the Commissioner of Police Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu psc. The Committee is made up of Police Officers, officials of Federal Character Commission and representatives of Lagos State Government. Members were advised to maintain professionalism and adhere strictly with the guidelines issued by the Force Headquarters on the conduct of the exercise.
The Commissioner of Police equally addressed the candidates, who were all on white T-shirts and shorts. Candidates were warned against falling prey of recruitment scammers who may lure them into parting with their money under the guise of helping them. He referred them to the banner pasted at the entrance to the screening venue with the inscription ‘Police recruitment is FREE and in case of any complaint they should call the number dedicated by the IGP for such issues 08100004507. He emphasised that the recruitment exercise is credible, transparent and designed in such a way that only credible, suitable and qualified candidates are selected. The Head of the Lagos State recruitment Committee, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bankole Lanre Sikiru appreciated the Commissioner of Police for the massive support given to the Committee.
The Committee will in the next two weeks screen about three thousand candidates of Lagos State original that applied for recruitment into the Force. The exercise started with candidates from Agege and Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Governments. A maximum of two Local Governments will be screened each day.
The exercise is done in strict compliance with COVID-19 prevention protocols. Candidates were subjected to temperature checks, hand washing and physical distancing. The use of face mask is strictly enhanced.
