The Lagos Rapid Response Squad has debunked the news making the rounds that its Commander, a Chief Superintendent of Police, Yinka Egbeyemi
directed some Officers of the Team
to demolish a Church and Building on Abiodun Sadiku Street, off Adeolu Street, Dopemu, Agege, Lagos belonging to one Primate Ojo Ajiboge, the Pastor of The Disciples Mission of Christ.
Part of the statement released yesterday, Wednesday 30th December, 2020 by the Public Affairs Officer of the RRS, Mr. Femi Moliki reads; “As a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Mr. Egbeyemi is well acquainted with the lawful steps involved in demolition of building”.
“We wish to state that none of the participant mentioned in the report either from the part of complainant or the policemen that carried out the demolition is known to CSP Yinka Egbeyemi. Neither is the said property”.
The Rapid Response Squad restates its commitment to complement the Lagos State Police Command in ensuring a safe environment and peaceful festive celebration for Residents and Visitors in the State.
The Rapid Response Squad however urged Distractors to allow Egbeyemi concentrate on his task of repositioning the Team and enforce the law according to the rules of engagement.
As at the time of filing in this report, the case is being investigated by the Lagos State Police Command.
