• Declare a State of Emergency on insecurity in Nigeria.
• Convene a War Council consisting of all Service Chiefs and Heads of Security agencies immediately.
• Mobilize soldiers, police and other security personnel to the trouble spots in the country.
• Direct the Inspector General of Police to withdraw all policemen attached to politicians and influential Nigerians and deploy them to the field.
• Sack any appointee within the security apparati of the nation who has not been performing to expectations, regardless of their positions.
• Give marching orders to the Nigerian Immigration Service on the need to beef up security at Nigeria’s borders and on profiling of people entering Nigeria.
• Order the immediate arrest and prosecution of anyone found with illegal arms, especially herdsmen.
• Order the immediate arrest of any herdsman found trespassing on people’s farms.
• Call for an urgent review of the ECOWAS protocol on the free movement of people and goods in the subregion.
• Give each and every head of agency within the security network of the nation a timeframe within which remarkable progress must be made to tackle the spate of insecurity or risk being sacked.
• Give a strong warning to Governors, Ministers, top politicians and presidential aides to desist from making careless statements that are capable of fueling disaffection among the various ethnic groups in the country.
• Instigate a process of investing heavily in modern technology to tackle banditry and terrorism.
• Go on national television to address the nation that he is aware of the grave situation in the country and he has taken all the steps listed above and more.
