In his renewed effort to make Delta state unsafe for criminal elements, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, FCIA, PSC+ has directed the Tactical Commanders of state Police Command to be proactive and launch manhunt for hoodlums terrorizing the state.
Acting on a tipoff that a robbery syndicate was planning an attack to rob unsuspecting Bank customers and dispose them of their valuables and money at Ughelli First bank. The Commander of Eagle-Net Special Squad, a SP Dimka Usman mobilized his Officers led by a Deputy Supretendent of Police, DSP Yunusa Danyaya embarked on intensive ‘Stop and Search Operation’ in a bid to forestall planned robbery operation.
During the policing operation, A Notorious Gang leader, Joshua Ogheneovo, Male, 32-Year-old, a resident of Uduphori Town Patani Local Government Area, was intercepted. After being searched, Some incriminating items were recovered from him. These includes one (1) Double barrel automatic pump action gun with twenty-five (25) rounds of live cartridges, one Toyota Highlander Jeep, ash colour with Registration Number DSZ 348 KM and one Mobile Bontel Cellphone.
Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to have snatched the recovered Highlander Jeep from the owner at Gun point.
“Effort is ongoing for the possible arrest of the remaining Gang members and in no time, they will be brought to book”, the statement released by the Acting State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Edafe Bright

On Sunday 4th April, 2021, the Chairman of a Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) of Zone 12 Hausa Quarters, Warri made a report to the Police that he received a phone call from one of his members, Onajite Okolejo, Male under his unit that he was being attacked by some armed Gang. The Divisional Police Officer of ‘A’ Division Warri, CSP T.Y Mammud swiftly mobilized the Patrol team to the scene and rescued the victim. He was quickly rushed to the hospital. While battling with his life for survival at the hospital, he said that one of the suspect that attacked and shot him was a boy simply called Sahlisu, also known as ‘AKA Black Arrow’ but surname unknown. He later died from the gunshot injuries he sustained. But before he gave up the ghost, He also said that the suspect is a biological Son of Etsu Nupe of Hausa Quarters Warri.
The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali FCIA, PSC+ issued a marching order to the Warri Divisional Police Officers , CSP T.Y Mammud to ensure that the suspect is arrested, investigated and charged to court.
Following a comprehensive intelligence gathering and discreet investigation, the Police detectives tracked and arrested one Abdulrazaq Mohammed, Male, 25-Year-old who confessed to be among the gang that killed the victim. The Delta Police Command has said in a Press statement made available to National Association of Online Security News Publishers that effort is ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspect.
The members of the public are advised to give useful information that will lead to the arrest of the other suspects.
