Frederick Aramuwa, a Lagos-based pastor, who was kidnapped while travelling along the Ipele/Idoani road in Ondo State has been found dead.
The pastor was said to be travelling from Lagos to his hometown in Ifira-Akoko, Ondo State, on March 31, when he went missing.
His family and relatives were said to have embarked on a search for him and also reported the matter to the police.
They got to know he was kidnapped, after his captors called to demand ₦10 million ransom, which was later reduced to ₦2 million after some negotiations.
Painfully, after the ₦2 million ransom was paid, it was his lifeless body that was found in the forest.
DSP Tee-Leo Ikoro, spokesperson of the Ondo State police command, confirmed the incident.
He said the pastor’s remains have been deposited in the morgue at the General Hospital, Ipe-Akoko.
Ikoro disclosed that the deceased’s corpse was found tied to a tree in the forest.
He added that some other persons kidnapped along with the pastor have been rescued by the police.
The police spokesperson noted that the police is investigating the incident and hope to arrest the perpetrators soon.
