A former President of the United States, Donald Trump, has launched his own personal media website.
According to a report by The Punch, the platform appears on the website: www.DonaldJTrump.com/desk.
It features short essay-like posts and videos, as well as links by which website users can share their posts to social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook.
In a video posted on the platform, Tuesday night, the new communication site is described as “A beacon of freedom, A place to speak freely and safely,”.
While there are no features on the space to enable website users to reply or engage with the president on his posts, they can make donations and also make use of the shopping feature to obtain Make American Great Again march.
According to reports by Fox News, the site which surfaced on Tuesday appears to be powered by Campaign Nucleus— the “digital ecosystem made for efficiently managing political campaigns and organizations,” created by the President’s former campaign manager, Brad Parscale.
It is also mentioned on the site that the platform is “Paid for by Save America JFC, a joint fundraising committee of Save America and Make America Great Again PAC. Not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee. donaldjtrump.com”.
Not backing down on his stance on the 2020 USA Presidential Elections, the twice impeached president wrote on the website, “The Fraudulent Presidential Election of 2020 will be, from this day forth, known as THE BIG LIE!”
He has also taken shots at Twitter for permanently suspending him from the microblogging platform after a train of tweets, which were held responsible for the April 6 Capitol riot.
“Twitter stock “plunged” as results are no longer cutting it for investors. Shares are off 15% today. Bad forecasts are hurting the outlook but more importantly, in my opinion, it has become totally BORING as people flock to leave the site.
Michael Nathanson stated, “the math doesn’t make sense” as he lowered his price target. I guess that’s what happens when you go against FREEDOM OF SPEECH! It will happen to others also.”
The platform is launched, just a day before Facebook‘s Oversight Board is expected to announce its decision on whether to indefinitely suspend the former President from Facebook and Instagram.
Speaking with Fox, President Trump’s senior adviser Jason Miller pointed out that the platform was not a social media platform.
“The website is a great resource to find his latest statements and highlights from his first term in office, but this is not a new social media platform. We’ll have additional information coming on that front in the very near future,” he added.
