Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Tuesday presented a brand-new Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) to popular gospel singer, broadcaster, and Chairman of Fresh FM Radio 105.9, Yinka Ayefele.

The gesture came days after a fire outbreak devastated the Music House in Ibadan last Friday, destroying property worth several millions of naira.

During the presentation at the Ayefele Music House, Challenge, Ibadan, the governor, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Otunba Ademola Ojo, commended Ayefele for his resilience and immense contributions to the growth of entertainment and the media industry in Oyo State and beyond.

He said, “On behalf of the State Governor, Makinde, and the State Government, we are here to commiserate with you. You are a symbol of perseverance and inspiration to millions of Nigerians.

“On behalf of the Governor and the state government, we present this gift to you.”

Ayefele, who has been grappling with losses following the inferno that affected parts of the Fresh FM complex, was visibly emotional as he received the keys to the SUV.

It would be recalled that Governor Makinde had earlier visited the station a day after the fire incident to commiserate with Ayefele and inspect the damage.
