Policemen and commercial motorcyclists, also known as okada riders, clashed on Friday in Oke-Ira, Ogba, Lagos State, causing confusion in the area.
It was gathered that a police officer had boarded one of the motorcycles on Thursday and refused to pay the rider upon arrival at his destination.
The incident was said to have attracted other riders, who insisted that the police officer must pay for the ride.
According to reports, the situation escalated into a disagreement and two of the riders were shot.
The okada riders were said to have mobilised themselves to the Area G police station in the area on Friday, with the intention to set it on fire, but they were repelled.
The development caused pandemonium in the area as residents, shop owners and passers-by ran for safety.
However, normalcy has now been restored and commercial activities have resumed with okada riders said to have deserted the roads
