A senior aide of the former PM said the attack was “an attempt to kill him,” but police are yet to confirm that Mr Khan was the target. A man has been arrested.
Mr Khan, who was ousted as Pakistan’s leader in April after he lost a vote of no confidence, was leading supporters on a march to the capital Islamabad to demand a snap election.
