Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has apologised to his Ghanaian fans for not showing up at a concert he was billed to perform.
The concert was supposed to hold at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.
Wizkid’s failure to show up elicited a lot of negative reactions from his fans.
However, the singer on Sunday via his Twitter page apologised for not showing up. He said there were issues with production and safety.
Part of his statement reads, “My brand is something I don’t joke with! I sincerely apologise to everyone who made the effort to come out for me last night. I was Charged up, looking forward to doing this show.
“However, please understand that every decision I made co-sided with honouring my fans, and would only make a drastic decision like this because it was the right thing to do.”
The singer also said that a new date and details for the concert would be shared soon.
