The Executive Chairman, Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area, Snr. Comr. Lasisi Ayinde Akinsanya has appealed to the people living with disabilities, caregivers and their parents to turn out enmass during the February 25th and March 11th general elections to cast their votes for the All Progressives Congress, APC Presidential standard bearer, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Lagos State Governor, Dr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and other APC candidates.
Akinsanya stated this during a new year parley with people living with disabilities, organized by the LCDA in conjunction with Victoria Intellectual Disability Foundation (Vidfoundation), titled *”Upholding Inclusive Rights of Persons with Special Needs in Nigeria”* held at the council secretariat, today.
The parley have over 500 representatives of all categories of people living with disabilities across Alimosho Federal Constituency in attendance.
The council helmsman enjoined them to canvass their families to cast their votes for a humanitarian politician (Bola Tinubu), noting that, Tinubu has better plans for the people living with disabilities in Nigeria which he said Tinubu initiated in Lagos while he was the State Governor, adding that successive governments in Lagos State have taken issues of people with special needs very passionately which he said shall be extended across the nation if Tinubu is elected the next Nigeria President.
In his address, the Chief Executive Officer, Vidfoundation, Mrs. Isokpehi Mavis promised that all people living with disabilities in Alimosho Federal Constituency will cast their votes for APC candidates 1st the forthcoming general elections.
In her words, “i implore you to leave sentiment out in making your democratic choice, know your choice and why making choice, choice is meant to be beneficial. Make that choice that will benefit your wellness and that choice in the forthcoming general elections is APC. Vote wisely, vote for all APC candidates.”
“To whom much is given, much is expected. Lagos State Government and APC at the Federal level has given much to us as PWD which could be improved if the process is sustained. That means your already existing rights of lively living in Lagos State will continue with your right chiice.”
A mother of 18 years girl with special needs appreciated the Executive Chairman, the Executive Vice Chairman, Hon. Mojisola Badmus and Head of Agriculture, Social Services amd Community Development Department, Mr. Babatunde Saba.
While delivering the vote of thanks, HOD Agric, Mr. Babatunde Saba said persons with special needs should see the coming Government as their government, thereby encouraged them to come out enmass along with their families and cast their votes for all APC candidates at the polls comes February 25th and March 11th general election.
