The spokesperson of the Nigerian police force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has responded to a video that has been circulating online, depicting police officers assaulting a man in Port Harcourt.
The viral clip captured a police officer assaulting a man with a stick and later slapping him before forcing him into a vehicle parked within the premises.
Reacting to the video, the Police spokesperson expressed his disappointment and stated that he had instructed the Rivers State command to identify and bring to justice the officers involved in the harassment.
CSP Adejobi wrote: “Quite unfortunate. I have asked the Rivers State command to fish them out. This is unpolice, unethical and condemned. Whatever the man must have done, he doesn’t deserve this beating. Beating him like a baby?? A grown-up man? We will surely get the men “
