Dr. Enitan Dolapo Badru, Frontline HoR Member, Lagos Island Federal Constituency 1 and Academic Celebrates Nigerian Fathers as the world commemorates International Father’s Day.

He stated that the significance of Father’s Day is to honour fathers for their Unconditional Love, Support and Guidance; A day to celebrate the important role that fathers play in the family.

In his statement, the Federal Lawmaker exolled the virtues of fathers from time immemorial. He described them as the Life-support of the family.

He however called for more support from mothers to raise responsible children they can be proud of.

Father’s Day was founded by Sonora Smart Dodd from Washington, a daughter of a Civil War veteran named William Jackson Smart, who raised her and her five siblings as a single father.

Dodd was inspired to create the holiday after attending a Mother’s Day church service in 1909.

It is celebrated on the third Sunday of June.
