The current economic situation in the country seems to be getting to celebrities, as Baba Wande recently reacted to the high cost of living.
Baba Wande lamented over the increasing cost of living in Nigeria and showed genuine concern for the general public.
Yoruba movie veteran, Baba Wande on Tuesday made a public appeal to President Bola Tinubu following the increase in the pump prices of Petrol, known as Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), from 537 to 617 naira per Litre.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) recently further increased pump prices of Petrol across the country.
NNPC filling stations in Abuja witnessed brief queues, particularly the one located along Murtala Mohammed Express road in Kado remained shut for a few hours as the Petrol attendants adjusted their fuel pumps to reflect the new price of 617 Naira.
Following the recent developments, Baba Wande, in video making the rounds, pleaded with Tinubu to reduce the pump price of petrol.
In the clip, he highlighted the widespread suffering among many people who are barely able to afford a proper meal.
Baba Wande expressed concerns about the substantial impact of the petrol price, leading to widespread suffering among the masses, exacerbating food shortages, and contributing to high rates of unemployment among graduates.
According to him, the Yorubas have achieved a significant milestone by attaining the highest position in the country. He compares Tinubu’s achievement to the attempts made by figures like Awolowo and MKO, who, in the past, were not successful in reaching this position.
Baba Wande urged Tinubu to use his position and influence to address the issue of high petrol prices and requests him to take action to lower them for the benefit of the people.
He said;
“Yoruba people have successfully attained the highest position of the country,since awolowo and MKO tried to do that but they didn’t allow them, tinubu has done it now, he should pls bring down the price of petrol”.
The masses are suffering, this fuel situation is a big problem, alot of people cannot drive their cars anymore, market prices have skyrocketed, no food, graduates have no job”
