The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, Idowu Owohunwa is set to address journalists over an ongoing investigation into the death of singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad, According to The Nation.
The press briefing is slated for 3 p.m. today, Friday, October 6, at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja.
The CP is expected to give updates on the efforts of the command so far as regards arrests and invites made by the police in connection with the ongoing investigation.
Mohbad died on 12th September at the age of 27 under controversial circumstances.
Thousands of Nigerians have since demanded justice for Mohbad in nationwide protests.
On September 18, the Lagos police inaugurated a 13-man special investigation team to probe the singer’s death.
Owohunwa had vowed that the command would use all its powers to fish out everyone indicted in the case.
On September 21, the police exhumed Mohbad’s corpse for autopsy and are awaiting the results.
The Lagos police on Tuesday announced it had Naira Marley in its custody for interrogation.
Sam Larry was also detained on September 29.
The Sabo-Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court during the week ordered the remand of Naira Marley and three others for the alleged conspiracy and murder of Mohbad, The Nation reports.
The others remanded are Ogedengbe Fisayo, 37; Ayobami Sadiq, 27; and Samson Eletu, 45.
The Chief Magistrate, Adeola Olatubosun, ordered the remand for 21 days in the police State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCID) and adjourned the case until 25 October.
