A woman has confessed to stealing babies and selling them for different amounts depending on their gender.

The woman, whose name is yet to be ascertained, was seen in a video being interrogated by some men who had caught up with her holding another baby which she had allegedly stolen.

The woman, speaking in pidgin English said whole sells female babies at N500,000, and she gives out male babies for the sum of N1m. Saying it is her business, the woman said the person who introduced her to the business was caught and killed.

The video did not show whether the woman was handed over to security agencies. At the time of the interrogation, she was carrying a baby boy whom she clutched to her chest while she answered questions.

The woman pleaded for mercy as she begged against being recorded in a video saying she was ready to make all the necessary confessions.
