Isaac Fayose, brother to former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, is advocating for a strategic move to address the devaluation of the naira.
In a video shared on his official Facebook account, Fayose proposes that President Bola Tinubu implements a cap of $1,000 on individual domiciliary accounts, emphasizing the need to curb the impact of the naira’s free fall.
Fayose suggests a bold initiative where the President addresses the nation, announcing the seizure or auction of any private domiciliary account exceeding $1,000.
This measure, according to him, would extend to former Governors, including his brother Ayodele Fayose.
The proposal involves auctioning the excess dollars stored in these accounts and converting the proceeds into naira.
“The President should come to the television addressing Nigerians and order that any private domiciliary account that has more than $1,000 will be seized or auctioned and replaced with naira.
“All individuals including myself, my brother and all the former governors that have dollars stored, auction their dollars and change it to naira”, Fayose stated.
He further emphasized that individuals, including himself, his brother, and other former Governors, should actively participate in this initiative by auctioning their excess dollars, contributing to the stability of the naira.
