Chairman Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote has announced the dedication of a 20-kilometre road within his refinery and petrochemical company in Ibeju-Lekki to the late Group CEO of Access Holdings Plc, Herbert Wigwe.
Dangote revealed this decision during the celebration of Wigwe’s professional life recently held in Lagos.
Herbert Wigwe, along with his wife Chizoba, first son Chizi, and former group chairman of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Abimola Ogunbanjo, tragically passed away in a helicopter crash in the US.
The businessman and industrialist described Wigwe as pivotal to the success of the Dangote Group, acknowledging his contributions and impact on the company’s growth.
In addition to Dangote’s gesture, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu pledged to immortalize Wigwe at the Lagos Island Maternity, where the late banker was born.
This move seeks to honour Wigwe’s legacy and commemorate his significant contributions to society.
