James Brown and Bobrisky
Nigerian crossdresser James Brown has paid a visit to his colleague, Bobrisky, who is currently serving a six-month sentence at the Kirikiri Correctional Facility in Lagos.
Bobrisky, a popular social media personality, was sentenced to prison on April 12th by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Lagos High Court.
The judge ruled that the sentence, which was handed down without the option of a fine, was due to Bobrisky’s abuse of the Nigerian naira.
According to reports, the jail term commenced on March 24th, the day of Bobrisky’s arrest.
In an Instagram post on Friday, Brown shared photographs of his visit to the Kirikiri prison, where he met with the facility’s officials.
Brown noted that the primary purpose of his visit was to “know if she is alright.”
“I went to Kirikiri prison to visit Bobrisky to know if she is alright,” he wrote.
Brown also revealed that the process of gaining access to the prison was arduous, requiring a week of “rigorous planning” and “one letter from Abuja to Kaduna.”
He expressed his belief that you have to be connected to have access to some things.
“I wanted to know how she is holding up. It was not easy to get to the prison, it was one letter from Abuja to Kaduna. I’m exhausted,” he added.
“You have to be connected, have money or be somebody to have access to some things. I used one week to plan this visit,” he said.
