• Reiterates Commitment To Qualitative Grassroot Governance, Complementing Lagos Govt’s THEMES Agenda
Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe, Kosofe Council Chair has showcased his Account Of Stewardship in the last three years to the Locals and general public amidst encomium in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, Citizen NewsNG reports.
During a Press Conference at the Local Government Area Secretariat on Monday 22 July, 2024, Hon. Ogunlewe outlined his feats in Infrastructure, Human Capital Development, HealthCare cum Community Sanitation, Education, Social Welfare Scheme, Security and Sanitation.
As part of his plans to upscale Physical infrastructure in Kosofe Local Government Area, the Council
helmsman constructed 35 Roadnetworks with Drainage Systems and Walkways to further ease mobility and accelerate local economy.
According to the Council Boss, 11 More RoadNetworks would be delivered in the Next 6 months.
In addition, out of the 20 Borehole Water Systems earmarked by his administration, 10 had been constructed and delivered with provision of Power Generating Sets.
To improve the standard of basic education in Kosofe and its adjoining Communities, Hon. Ogunlewe renovated dilapidated Primary Schools, Provided Furniture, Teaching and learning materials for Teachers and Pupils.
Two Hundred General Certificate Examination(GCE) Forms are distributed to Secondary Schools Students and 1,500 UTME/JAMB yearly. Adult Literacy Centres were inaugurated to provide opportunity for senior citizens who wish to acquire more knowledge and cross fertilization of ideas.
In addition, the Council Chair organised computer literacy training for students and Youths to enable them catch up with emerging digital world. Laptop computers were also distributed.
He hinted that his administration acquired School uniform materials for sewing and distribution to 6,000 Pupils across the council area.
Most of the Primary Health Centres had been upgraded with modern medical equipment and Personnel were recruited for unhindered access to healthcare service.
Citizen NewsNG Correspondent reported that Hon. Ogunlewe purchased an Ambulance to serve the Primary Health Centres in the Municipal.
With his Healthcare Mission, Hon. Ogunlewe organised Free Eye screening and Testing. Two Thousand (2,000) Eye Glasses had been distributed.
To maintain Healthier Communities, the council authority embarks on regular Sanitation, Fumigation and desilting of Drainage Systems across the Political wards.
In his Human Capital Development cum Employment Programme, Hon. Ogunlewe employed Four hundred (400) Youths across the Seven(7) Political Wards in Kosofe.The Youngsters are delegated to monitor Projects.
Elderly Citizens and Vulnerable Residents are gifted assorted Food Items and Cash to lessen the resultant effects of economic challenge in the country.
In the same vein, One Thousand Widows receive N20,000 Each monthly.
Free Shuttles are stationed at different Terminals and Locations for Commuters within Kosofe Local Government Area.
While responding to questions from Journalists, Hon. Ogunlewe reiterated his commitment to offering Qualitative and Responsive Grassroot Governance.
He also vowed to continually complement the Lagos State Government’s THEMES Agenda.
Security of Lives and Properties had improved significantly since Hon. Ogunlewe assumed office. This could be attributed to his unrelenting efforts and Strategic Partnership with Security Agencies and Local Vigilantes.
The Ogunlewe-led administration embarked on massive renovation of the Council Secretariat. Few among the Projects executed were construction of NULGE Building, Customary Court and Electrification.
He however asked for the support of the residents and urged them to pay their Taxes and Levies regularly to enable the Council authority provide more Socioeconomic infrastructure and other Dividends of Democracy.
