The Kosofe Local Government, Lagos State has debunked an Online Publication which stated that the Executive Chairman, Barr Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe gifted a vehicle and placed Oloye Seun Salami on a monthly salary.

According to a Press Release made available to Citizen NewsNG by the Chief Press Secretary to the Council Chair, Olúwọlé Òbísànyà-Lábíà, the report is false and baseless.

“The Office of the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government Area debunks recent online claims regarding alleged gifts to Oloye Seun Salami. Contrary to circulating rumors, Barr Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe, the Executive Chairman, has not gifted a car or placed Mr. Salami on a monthly salary”, the Statement partly read.

Continuing, it clarified that Oloye Salami is neither an Employee nor a Political appointee of the Local Government.

“The Local Government’s accounts undergo rigorous internal and external audits to ensure proper use of council funds”, it empathized.

The Kosofe Local Government cautioned that the spread of misinformation could result into disharmony and public unrest.

“The Public Affairs Unit remains accessible for fact-checking and information verification. We encourage citizens to utilize this resource to ensure the dissemination of accurate information”, it stated further.

The Council Authority reiterated its commitment to accountability, transparency and responsible governance.
