Late Governor Of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu
The family of the late Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has kicked against Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s plan to organise lecture in commemoration of the first memorial of the former Governor.
Widow of the late Akeredolu, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu on her verified social media page, said Governor Aiyedatiwa was deceptive about the planned lecture.
She accused the Governor of rubbishing the legacies of late Akeredolu, saying “Lucky, you are preoccupied with rubbishing Aketi’s legacy; you can’t succeed, anyway.”
“Anybody close to Aketi and Arabinrin becomes your enemy. Your minions are scared to get close otherwise they lose their appointments. Now you want to pretend by organising one yeye lecture for Aketi’s memorial as an entry point to chop money on Aketi’s head.” She said.
A source close to the family hinted that the family had over the past five months commenced preparations for the first memorial of their late Patriarch and also sent invitation to the Governor.
“Despite sending invitation to the Governor and intimating him with the plans of the family to organise the first remembrance for the late Governor, Aiyedatiwa didn’t inform the Akeredolu’s family that he’s planning an event.
“To make matters worse, he’s also planning to hold his own event on the same day the family is having theirs in Owo. Any right thinking person should understand that the greatest legacy Aketi left behind is his family. You can’t continue to rubbish his family and treat them as enemies, yet you claimed you are honoring his memory.
“Why did you not inform the family that you have a program organized already? If they could find you worthy to attend their program in Owo and extended invitation to you, why did you not extend invitation to them for your own program? Can you head someone else’s head behind them?
