The Chairman of Obio-Akpor local government area of Rivers State, Chijioke Ihunwo, has announced the appointment of additional 130 special assistants to form part of his administration.

The chairman announced this in a post he made on his X handle on Wednesday night, saying the appointment takes immediate effect on Thursday.

Ihunwo is one of the chairpersons appointed by Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State amid a political crisis in the state.

Fubara had ensured that the former chairpersons loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, did not get their tenure renewed.

Ihunwo’s post read, “I have appointed the following persons as my Special Assistants.”

Incidentally, in July 2024, Ihunwo appointed 100 special assistants to form part of his administration, hence, with the appointment of the additional 130 aides, Ihunwo has 230 special assistants within six months.

The newly appointed special assistants include Helen Nyekwere, Josephine Wogu, Daisy Worgu, Wagwu Amaoge Hilda, Ogbonna Ezinne Stella, Goodness Ogbonda, Iroanya Nancy N., Dorathy Otuonye Waibiekwu, Mrs. Grace Amadi, Evelyn Okolo, Favour Wopara Uche, Ede Agnes, Blessing Worlu, Eke Stella, Adewoyin M. Latifat, Orlu Grace Oluchi, Jennifer Humphrey, Rachael Morris, Sylverline Oluchi, Wosu Elizabeth Obinuchi, Fortune Ihuoma Isi and Leona Humphrey.

Others include Ogor Omasirichi, Sarima Hephzibah C., Rose Amadi, Juliet Eke Sarima, Patience Chisa Wokoma, Mairo Zakari, Vivian Clinton, Emil’s Seibidor, Godknows Echem, Derego Ekine, Timothy Chike, Omezi Gospel Anaebom, Nyeche Vision Okagwa, Ben C. Chinda, Edna Happiness Malumi, Wobo Ren Dwight, Stanley Amadi, Eric Akaniniwo, Nduka Wobo, Solomon Walia, Ajoku Emeka Ndubuisi, Emenike Okobueze David, and Amarachi Grace Amadi.

The caretaker chairman while congratulating the new appointees, called on them to serve diligently in the interest of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
