Oba Isa Abiodun Shekoni Faronbi

The kingship dispute in Isolo Kingdom has officially come to an end as Oba Isa Abiodun Shekoni Faronbi has been crowned as the new Osolo of Isolo. His coronation follows the passing of the former ruler, Oba Kabiru Alani Agbabiaka Adeola Olusi III, who died on April 10, 2024.

Oba Isa Abiodun Shekoni Faronbi, who hails from the Akinlagun Branch of the Alagbeji Ruling House, was warmly received by both indigenes and non-indigenes upon his official crowning as the traditional ruler of Isolo.

His Royal Majesty, Oba Isa Abiodun Olakunle Faronbi-Shekoni Mobadenle Arolagbade Alagbeji III, was presented with the staff of office and the Instrument of Appointment by Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy & Rural Development, Mr. Bolaji Kayode Robert. The official presentation took place at the ministry’s conference room in Alausa-Ikeja, Lagos, on Friday, March 28, 2025.

The crowning ceremony will take place at Isolo Kingdom on Sunday, March 30, 2025, in a grand event attended by dignitaries, traditional rulers, government officials, and well-wishers from within and outside Lagos State. The celebration is expected to be marked with cultural displays, prayers, and a royal procession as Oba Isa Abiodun Shekoni Faronbi officially ascends the throne.

His reign marks the beginning of a new era for the people of Isolo, who anticipate progressive leadership and the preservation of their rich cultural heritage under his rule.
