A young woman, Cynthia Chizoba Oguzie, met a tragic end in her sleep after an overhead water tank collapsed and crashed through the roof of her bedroom in Lekki, Lagos.

Cynthia had just returned from work and was resting when the tank, reportedly mounted on a faulty structure, gave way and fell directly onto her bed.

The landlord, who resides abroad, claimed no direct responsibility, stating he had never physically seen the property and relied on an engineer to supervise construction. He alleged the engineer may have used substandard materials.

The said engineer is now wanted for questioning as investigations commence.
