Veteran Nollywood actor, Tito Harrison has shared a heart-wrenching account of his struggles with liver disease and a chronic ulcer, which left him bedridden and forced him to sell all his possessions, including his house and cars.
In a tearful interview on Biola Bayo’s Talk To B show, Harrison revealed the darkest moments of his life, where he lost everything due to mounting hospital bills.
“I sold my house, car, and everything I had to pay hospital bills. After moving to a rented house, I couldn’t afford the rent anymore, so we had to stay at my mother-in-law’s place,” the actor revealed, his emotions overwhelming him.
The actor emotionally recounted how he was left with no choice but to rely on the support of his loved ones.
However, amidst the turmoil, Harrison credited his wife as his greatest blessing, who stood by him when others abandoned him.
“The luck I had was my wife. When I was battling with liver disease and a chronic ulcer, my wife stood by me when everybody left me. It is good to have a good wife. If I come to this world again, it is my wife I will marry,” he said, breaking down in tears.
Harrison also addressed the judgment he faced within the industry, where some people mocked his condition and ridiculed him in the media.
“Some people granted an interview saying, ‘It is finished for Tito Harrison, he’s now living with his mother-in-law.’ I have the testimony to that. I didn’t throw away the magazine. Even if it had been so, if you can’t rally around me, you don’t vilify me or kill my reputation,” he said, expressing pain over being vilified and having his reputation attacked during his vulnerable moments.
Despite the struggles, Harrison’s testimony highlights the importance of having a supportive partner and the resilience needed to overcome life’s challenges.
