House of Representatives
The House of Representatives on Tuesday voted against a bill seeking to introduce rotational presidency among Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
Six other constitutional amendment bills, including proposals on INEC’s powers, state auditors for LGAs, judiciary salaries, and creation of Ughelli East LGA, also failed to pass second reading.
The bills were initially voted on collectively and rejected. However, they may be reconsidered individually after appeals by the House Rules Committee chairman.
