At 58, Pastor Funmilola Abraham, Regional Overseer at Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, has given birth to twins after 24 years of marriage. In an interview with Grace Edema, she shared her remarkable journey.

• Early Years and Struggles

I married on March 31, 2001. After a year, I had surgery to remove fibroids, and my husband underwent medical checks, but everything seemed fine. Despite numerous hospital visits and treatments, including multiple IVF attempts, we remained childless. One IVF attempt resulted in a triplet pregnancy, but unfortunately, the babies didn’t survive.

• Faith and Perseverance

I trusted God, focusing on my ministry and leaving my childlessness in His hands. Though I cried and prayed, I never gave up. I realized that having children isn’t a biblical requirement for entering heaven, which brought me peace.

• The Miracle

During the 2023-2024 crossover service, I prayed fervently, asking God to bless me in the new year. A woman seeking fertility help approached me, and I prayed for her. She later found success with a matron’s treatment and became pregnant. Inspired by her story, I consulted the matron, underwent treatment, and conceived naturally.

• IVF Insights

IVF can be a viable option, but it’s not easy. It’s a journey that requires physical, emotional, and spiritual strength. At my age, the doctors recommended using a younger woman’s eggs, but I believe God’s intervention is crucial in such processes.

• In-Laws’ Reaction

My in-laws were supportive, encouraging me throughout my journey. Their kindness and respect towards me stemmed from my good character and responsible behavior.

• Husband’s Love

My husband, a born-again Christian, stood by me, refusing my suggestion to take a second wife. His love and commitment were instrumental in my journey.

• Advice

I advise those seeking fertility help to explore medical options alongside prayer. Don’t dismiss IVF solely due to age; however, it’s best to attempt it between 35 and 40 for better success rates.

My story is a testament to God’s mercy and the power of prayer and good character. I hope it inspires others to trust in God’s plan and seek medical help when needed.
