The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has warned it will begin a nationwide strike on Thursday, July 25, if the Federal Government fails to meet its demands before the July 23 ultimatum expires.
NMA President, Prof. Bala Audu, said the strike would follow the government’s failure to withdraw a controversial circular on revised allowances, which the association says violates prior agreements and undermines doctors’ welfare.
Despite ongoing talks with key ministries, the NMA insists the circular must be rescinded and all demands met to avoid disruption of medical services nationwide.
