The African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Coalition Movement have delivered a fiery response to Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Nyesom Wike, accusing him of panicking over their rising political momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement released on July 3, 2025, the coalition’s spokesman, Mal. Bolaji Abdullahi, said Wike’s verbal attacks during a media chat earlier in the day were driven by fear, not fact.
“Minister Wike’s descent to such levels of vitriol is driven by his fear of the coalition’s rising momentum,” Abdullahi said. “If he and the government he serves had fulfilled their promises to Nigerians, there would be no need for this movement and no reason for him to be so jittery. It’s too late to cry.”
Abdullahi condemned Wike’s handling of the FCT, citing unpaid primary school teachers, rising insecurity, and misplaced spending on grandiose projects while ignoring basic needs.
He also accused the minister of helping dismantle the PDP and of contributing to the hardship faced by ordinary Nigerians. “These are not personal grudges they are the cries of a nation betrayed,” he said.
