Sixty-two kidnap victims escaped after a Nigerian Air Force raid on bandit leader Muhammadu Fulani’s camp in Danmusa, Katsina State.
Commissioner for Internal Security, Dr Nasir Mu’azu, said the Saturday strike forced the bandits to flee, giving captives room to break free. Twelve victims are receiving treatment, while others remain under military care.
Governor Dikko Radda hailed the operation and vowed sustained action against banditry.
