Armed security personnel guarded the Osun-Osogbo sacred grove on Friday as large crowds of devotees and tourists attended the festival’s grand finale.
The event, which began July 28, ends with the symbolic Arugba procession, a calabash-bearing maiden offering sacrifice to the river goddess. Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the grove remains a key cultural and spiritual landmark for the Yoruba people.
