Telecom operators have raised alarm over rising vandalism of critical infrastructure, with the NCC revealing operators suffer 1,000 fibre cuts, 545 site denials, and 99 equipment thefts every week.

NCC boss Aminu Maida warned the attacks threaten national security and economic stability, while ALTON described the assaults as “economic sabotage,” urging government action, stiffer penalties, and stronger community protection for telecom assets.
