Gov. Fubara
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has formally disengaged members of his cabinet, appreciating them for their service and contributions to the state’s development over the past two years.
The affected officials include Commissioners and other public officers whose appointments were recently nullified by the Supreme Court, effectively ending their tenure.
Speaking during a valedictory session at Government House, Port Harcourt, on Wednesday, as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, Fubara lauded his outgoing cabinet members for their dedication despite the political turbulence that rocked the state.
The governor, who had himself been suspended during the State of Emergency imposed on Rivers by President Bola Tinubu, said their collective efforts helped to advance governance during difficult times.
He also used the occasion to stress the importance of unity, urging Nigerians to rally behind President Tinubu in the quest to build a peaceful, secure, and prosperous country.
Reiterating his renewed commitment to the people of Rivers State, Fubara expressed gratitude for their steadfast support and wished all Nigerians a happy Independence Anniversary.
