The House of Representatives called for a modern, digital system to register births, deaths, marriages, and other vital events to enhance national planning, governance, and security.

Speaker Abbas Tajudeen and committee members said the move would improve data accuracy, prevent fraud, and strengthen identity management, aligning Nigeria’s civil registration with international standards.
