Nigeria on Friday launched the ECOWAS National Biometric Identity Card (ENBIC) to strengthen border control, curb irregular migration, and improve identity verification across West Africa.
The card can serve as a travel document within ECOWAS, reduces passport demand, and uses advanced biometrics to combat fraud and cross-border crime. Nigeria is the seventh ECOWAS country to adopt the system.
