The NUC has identified 32 fraudulent organisations selling fake honorary doctorates in Nigeria. Prof. Abdullahi Ribadu warned that claiming “Dr” titles from such degrees is illegal and undermines academic credibility.

A national guideline on honorary degrees will soon be published, followed by a crackdown on illegal degree mills.
