Ogun State Chief Judge, Justice Modupe Dipeolu, called on the government to construct additional correctional facilities to tackle chronic prison overcrowding.

Speaking after recent jail delivery exercises in Abeokuta, she said releasing inmates alone is insufficient for long-term decongestion, noting 316 inmates freed so far through quarterly interventions. A Special Intervention Week is scheduled in Ilaro from December 15–23 to review 235 cases.
