The Federal Government has temporarily opened Section 1 (47 km) of the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway, from Ahmadu Bello Way to Eleko village, to ease festive traffic.
Works Minister Dave Umahi said the partial opening follows President Tinubu’s directive and is expected to reduce travel time and costs significantly. Full completion of Section 1 and half of Section 2 is scheduled for April 2026, excluding bridges.
