The Federal Government has congratulated Nollywood star Funke Akindele on the record-breaking success of her film Behind the Scenes, which has crossed ₦2.1 billion at the Nigerian box office.

In a statement on Monday, the National Orientation Agency described the feat as a major boost for Nigeria’s creative industry, noting that the film also earned over $300,000 across North America.

The agency said Akindele is the first filmmaker to top the African box office for three consecutive years, calling the achievement a proud moment for Nollywood and Nigeria’s cultural sector.
