The Bauchi State government has approved monthly stipends for imams and pastors, funded from savings recovered from ghost workers on the state payroll.

The decision, announced by the Head of Service and the Governor’s Economic Adviser, also covers newly created emirs and district heads, with payments set to commence soon.
