Achievers University, Owo, in Ondo State, has expelled 15 female students over what it described as acts of serious indiscipline. The management of the private institution disclosed this in a statement, explaining that the affected students were found culpable following investigations carried out in line with the university’s rules and regulations.
According to the university, the decision followed the circulation of videos deemed inappropriate, which violated the institution’s code of conduct and moral standards. The statement noted that disciplinary procedures were duly followed, including internal reviews by relevant panels, before the final decision to expel the students was reached.
The university management reiterated its commitment to maintaining high academic and moral standards, stressing that it would not tolerate actions capable of undermining its values or reputation. Achievers University also warned students against engaging in acts capable of bringing the institution into disrepute, adding that disciplinary measures would continue to be applied fairly and firmly where necessary.
The development has sparked reactions on social media, with mixed opinions on student discipline, privacy, and institutional regulations.
