According to reports from Kano , Fatima Abubakar, 35, and her six children were attacked by unknown persons and killed on Saturday January 17,2026. At least that’s when the evil act was discovered at their home in Dorayi Chiranchi Quarters, Kano State. The little child , the last born was thrown into the well by the attackers. On discovering the act neighbours raised alarm and contacted the Police Command.

The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the unspeakable tragedy while the State Government has ordered security agents to fish out the culprits. The motive behind the heinous act is still a matter of conjecture.

The police command says it received a distress call at 12:10 pm, and Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori mobilized a team to the scene. But by the time the team got there , all they met were the remains of the victims, whom sources say were bludgeoned to death with dangerous weapons.
The victims were taken to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Sunusi Tofa,the Media Adviser to Governor Abba Yusuf said he has mandated security agents to apprehend those behind the dastardly act.
The Governor described the “The killing of a mother and her innocent children as barbaric, senseless and a grave assault on our shared humanity.”
“We will ensure that the perpetrators are hunted down, arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” the Governor further stated.

Post Script: Police Arrest 3

CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, Police Public Relations Officer later on Sunday January 19 confirmed the arrest of 4 persons in connection with the gruesome killing.
He listed those arrested as Umar Auwalu, ‘ m ‘, 23 years old of Sabuwar Gandu Quarters Kano, Isyaku Yakubu, ‘ m ‘, AKA ‘Chebe’, 40 years old, of Sagagi Quarters Kano, and Yakubu Abdulaziz, ‘ m ‘, AKA ‘Wawo’, 21 years old, of Sabon Gida Sharada Quarters Kano.

The Police also confirmed that one of those arrested is a nephew of the woman and he planned the operation that led to the multiple killings.
