The Federal Government has launched a renewed Safe Schools Initiative to strengthen security nationwide, after reports that over 60,000 schools lack basic protection.

Education Minister Dr. Tunji Alausa said the era of reactive measures is over, with NSCDC now leading coordinated efforts, including panic buttons, alert systems, and dedicated Safe Schools squads. The plan also includes sustainable funding and community engagement to protect students.
