Late Mrs Oluranti Olufunmilayo Esther Akinyemi

A Nigerian woman, Mrs Oluranti Olufunmilayo Esther Akinyemi (née Oluwalana/Ogundana), has tragically passed away less than 20 hours after arriving in the United Kingdom to attend her child’s graduation ceremony.

The heartbreaking development was shared on X by user SK the Plug, who disclosed that Mrs Akinyemi travelled to the UK on February 11, 2026, in anticipation of her child’s graduation scheduled for February 18.

According to the post, she reportedly suffered a sudden cardiac arrest in the early hours of February 12 and was rushed to Luton and Dunstable University Hospital for emergency treatment.

She was said to have remained in a coma for three days before being declared clinically dead on February 14.

The tragic incident has sparked an outpouring of condolences on social media, with many expressing sorrow over the devastating turn of events.
