According to Punch Metro, the incident occurred on Sunday afternoon under the Sango-Ota bridge, although the exact circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear.
A police source who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to comment on the matter said the content creator was injured while filming a comedy skit at the location.
“He was shooting a skit under the Sango-Ota bridge when he sustained a gunshot injury. We don’t have details on how it happened yet, but his crew members who were present quickly rushed him to the hospital,” the source said.
The source added that Broda Shaggy was immediately taken to Blooming Care Hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos, where medical personnel administered first aid upon arrival.
The report added that the comedian was later referred to Duchess Hospital located in the Government Residential Area of Ikeja, where he is currently recuperating.
