An Ibadan-based cleric, Kayode Amusan, widely known as Agbala Gabriel, has come under intense scrutiny following allegations of sexual misconduct and the alleged mismanagement of donations raised for individuals battling serious illnesses. Crime Reporting Service
According to Ireporter Online, the accusations have sparked widespread debate across social media platforms, where the cleric had previously built a strong reputation as a compassionate religious leader who frequently mobilised financial support for vulnerable Nigerians.
For several years, the pastor cultivated an online image centred on charity and humanitarian outreach. Videos showing him praying for struggling families and appealing for financial assistance for sick individuals often circulated widely online, earning him admiration from many followers.
However, that public image has recently been challenged after a series of allegations surfaced on platforms such as Facebook, TikTok and Instagram.
One of the controversies involves a woman identified as Morenikeji, who reportedly suffers from a spinal condition and whose medical case had earlier attracted public donations.

In a video that has since gone viral, Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola disclosed that she had initially helped raise funds for the woman’s surgery before discovering that the family later sought assistance from the cleric.
She explained that she withdrew from the fundraising effort once the woman was taken under the pastor’s care.
According to her, she had earlier raised money for the surgery but the amount was insufficient. She stated that after the woman’s family turned to Agbala Gabriel for further assistance, she stepped away from the process. Daramola also alleged that the cleric later abandoned the family and failed to fulfil promises regarding accommodation and medical support.
In the same video, the woman’s daughter claimed that she eventually removed her mother from the cleric’s care due to concerns about how the situation was being handled.
While the controversy surrounding the medical fundraiser was still attracting attention online, another allegation emerged during a live broadcast by a blogger known as Iyalaje Courtroom.
The blogger alleged that the cleric mismanaged donations and engaged in inappropriate relationships with women within his ministry. According to the claims, one of the women, identified as Bolu and said to have previously served as a backup singer in the church, allegedly became pregnant for the pastor and later gave birth to twins.
The blogger further claimed that the relationship reportedly began when the woman was about 23 years old and that the cleric initially denied responsibility for the pregnancy before later accepting it following pressure and providing accommodation for the woman and her children.
A charity advocate, Princess Adeyinka, also alleged that she intervened when the matter first surfaced, claiming the cleric initially refused to acknowledge responsibility before later doing so.

Reacting to the controversy, Agbala Gabriel dismissed the allegations, describing them as attempts to tarnish the reputation of prominent religious leaders.
He stated that public figures, particularly ministers who gain widespread recognition, often become targets of false accusations on social media, adding that similar attacks have been directed at respected pastors, including Enoch Adeboye, in the past.
